Azuma Baseball Stadium is located in west part of Fukushima City. It is inside Azuma Sports Park which has commanding views of the Azuma Mountains and Mt. Adatara. The facility is amongst the beautiful nature on the banks of the Arakawa River.
The inner and outer stands can accomodate up to 30,000 spectators. The field is made of synthetic grass and hosts a range of events including high school and professional baseball games.
The stadium will host softball and baseball games for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and has undergone reconstruction work that started in November 2018 and included increasing wheelchair accessible seating behind the backnet from 4 to 20 seats, which combines with an additional 10 seats on the 1st floor for a total of 30 seats.
A new elevator for disabled and aged spectators was also installed which means that wheelchair users can enjoy peace of mind while watching the games. Construction will be completed in March 2020.
