Tsurugajo Castle

Tsuruga Castle is the symbol of Aizu-Wakamatsu City. Ruled by many feudal lords during the sengoku “warring state” period and is famous in the Boshin War in the closing days of the Tokugawa government. The castle now exhibits valuable items in the Tsuruga Museum.

Bus
From JR Aizu-Wakamatsu Station catch the Haikarasan or Akabe route buses (Machinaka Shuyu Bus) and alight at the Tsurugajo Kitaguchi or Tsurugajo Sannomaruguchi bus stop. It is then a 5-minute walk.

Pets are allowed only in the castle grounds.
